Workers Compensation

Question: I spend all day loading and unloading trucks for my job. While I was sweeping a trailer, the truck driver pulled away from the dock and I fell between the trailer and the dock. It was like a trap door opening without even knowing. I live and work in RI. After the accident, I went to the ER for medical treatment. What should I do next?

Answer: Workers compensation is in place for your injury. First, your employer should have reported it to their carrier. However, if they did not you should get legal help. You are entitled to have your medical bills paid and any time out of work reimbursed.
